to our seasonal "Highlights at Togonon" which will come to you
quarterly. In our effort to significantly reduce our hard copy
printing, we hope that this will be the best way for us to bring you up
to date.

Malcolm Lubliner
The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery
has collected Malcolm Lubliner's portraits of mid-century artists from
his time as the principal photographer for the Los Angeles Museum of
Art's historic Art and Technology Exhibition between 1969 and 1971.
Lubliner's photographs from this period are also in the collection of
the SFMOMA, LACMA, Oakland Museum and David Packard Collection, among
others.

Hiroyo Kaneko
The
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art has recently acquired Hiroyo
Kaneko's photograph (see right) from her "Three Cornered World"
series. She is a recent recipient of the Santa Fe Prize for Photography,
2009, which was juried by Charlotte Cotton, Curator and Head of the
Wallis Annenberg Department of Photography, Los Angeles County Museum
of Art (LACMA).

Servando Garcia
The
Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum is showcasing regional artists in
their annual "Call for Entries" exhibition including the work of
Servando Garcia. He is one of four artists that were honored in their
selection for this event.

David Johnson
David
Johnson is currently in an exhibition at the San Francisco Planning +
Urban Research Association's (SPUR) new headquarters in the SOMA
neighborhood. His photograph captures the famous Fillmore Jazz District
in the late 1940's. This exhibition examines the history of citymaking
in San Francisco curated by Benjamin Grant: www.spur.org

Leo Valledor
Leo
Valledor was part of the Decorator Showcase, 2009 "History of the San
Francisco Art Institute" during the months of July and May. San
Francisco Art Institute's Hou Hanru curated this special exhibition of
SFAI alumni. To coincide with this event, Togonon Gallery
launched SFAI Revisited Exhibitions for May and June, 2009.

Jack Fulton
Jack
Fulton's photographs were published in two recently released books:
Architecture and Nature: Creating the American Landscape by Sarah
Bonnemaison & Christine Macy and Spaced Out: Radical Environments
of the Psychedelic Sixties by Alastair Gordon. These two books
feature Fulton's images, made in the 1970's, of 'radical' architecture
such as geodesic domes and alternatively constructed houses.

Togonon
Gallery participated in 6 Local Auctions, including: Small
Treasures Spring Art Auction (Visual Aid), Headland's Benefit Auction,
University of California San Francisco, AIDS Health Project, Pacific
Asian American Women Bay Area Coalition (PAAWBAC), Academy of Friends,
San Francisco and Californians for Centro Para Los Adolescentes de San
Miguelde Allende, (CASA).
Our heartfelt thanks to the

Francisco Art Institute, captivate their audience with stories about
the
development of their careers in photography, June 20, 2009. David
Johnson studied under the photography school's founder, Ansel
Adams. Jack Fulton later held the same department chair as the
illustrious photographer.

artists, Ted Lincoln and Adrianne Watson featured in the current

Harana
Togonon
Gallery will co-host a fundraiser and private screening of the trailer
of Harana, a documentary film by Benito Bautista about a musical
tradition in the Philippines that's nearing extinction on Wednesday,
