_Artist Francis Baker stands in the company of

In the environmental realm, science and art are
inextricably linked. While science determines how we measure the
health of our planet, art allows us to visualize our relationship
to the natural world. Art in Action collects creative interpretations
of the state of our planet in word and image by 79 artists. Curated

_Edith Hillinger published the article “Estate
Planning for Artists” in the Fall Women in The Arts Newsletter.
The artist will give a talk on this subject September, 2008 in New
York.
_Ben Needham is living and working in New York, NY. Recently, he
had a group exhibition at the Pence Gallery in Davis, CA. Later
this year, Needham will exhibit in group shows in San Francisco,
Slovenia, and Germany.
_Leo Valledor & Peter Forakis - will be exhibited
in “Refiguring the 1960s: The Park Place Gallery Group, New
York 1963-67” at the Blanton Museum of Art, The University
of Texas at Austin, September 23, 2008-January 18, 2009. A major
catalog accompanies the show curated by Linda Henderson.
_Peter Forakis is featured in Princeton University Press anthology
titled Einstein for the 21st Century (2008), which discusses Peter
and Atlanta Gateway, the largest metal sculpture achieved by an
artist of the 1960s by art historian Linda Henderson.
_Fan Lee Warren and Hilda Robinson are in an exhibition at Ridley
Gallery at Sierra College in Rocklin California from January 18-February
29, 2008: Works By Northern California African-American Artists
celebrating Black History Month.
Edith Hillinger is included in the book Feminists
Who Changed America, 1963-1975, edited by Barbara Love and published
by the University of Illinois Press, 2006.
The artist also received a review in Artweek February 2007 for her
painting included in the exhibition Our Planet, Our Home at the
SFMOMA Artists Gallery.
_Livia Stein is presenting at the Second International
Conference of Art in Society hosted by the Universityof Kassel.
The conference is taking place around the excitement of Documenta,
one of the most prestigious art shows in Europe, which happens every
five years.

selection of gallery artists. Terra Fuller is currently the acting
director of the New Pacific Studio Artist in Residence Program in
Masterton, New Zealand. Terra is in a show at The Drawing Room New

_Johanna Poethig Loop Mural
Johanna Poethig designed and led the painting of "Loop Tattoo,"
a 6,500-square-foot community mural that covers the side of a building
on East Lake Street just off Michigan Avenue. She and a dozen artists
from the Chicago Public Art Group painted the mural, which measures
about 50 feet wide and 135 feet long, on 270 5-by-5-foot square
mats, which were mounted to the wall.

_Hiroyo Kaneko recently exhibited her large format photographs at
the Japanese Consulate in San Francisco.
_Isabel Urbina completed a residency at The New
Pacific Studio (Vallejo, CA & New Zealand). Isabel is representing
the gallery in the Auction for Imagine Bus Project.
