Togonon Gallery is very pleased to present a group show featuring
works by seven artists from the West Coast and the greater US: Jane
Catlin,
Xuchi Naungayan Eggleton, Edith Hillinger, Peter Forakis,
Leo Valledor, & Charles Schucker.
The pieces represented in “Review/Preview” are a survey
and introduction all at once. Togonon Gallery will be featuring two
distinct groups of artists in 2008. Developing from the twentieth
century modernist tradition, the first group, features minimalism
as their primary artistic theme in both painting and large-scale
sculpture. The sculptural works are bold and searching, questioning
the idea of space itself and its relation to form. The second group
of work featured by the gallery, are from emerging, contemporary
artists. These paintings offer dynamic compositions and a stand out
use of color. “Review/Preview” is an excellent introduction
to the themes and ideas of seven artists who hold their own unique
vision and approach to the art making process.
