San Francisco Art Institute Revisited

Togonon Gallery is pleased to present “San Francisco Art Institute Revisited”. This exhibition coincides with the San Francisco Decorator Showcase exhibition entitled “History of San Francisco Art Institute” from April 25-May 25, 2009.

Established in 1871, SFAI is among the preeminent art schools in the country and a key institution in American Art history. This show highlights works of distinguished artists in painting, sculpture, printmaking and photography who have studied or taught at the San Francisco Art Institute within the past 60 years. Together the works featured are excellent examples of a wide-range of styles including that of abstract, hard edge, surrealism, and minimalism.

For over 15 years, the Togonon Gallery has focused on exhibiting West Coast artists. The gallery takes pride in representing numerous graduates of SFAI and reiterating the gallery’s commitment to the visual culture of the Bay Area.
